So! I finally got my tote bag/Trick or Treat bag finished! It took me about two days (ultimately about 3 hours), mainly because I did this without a pattern, plus I just started going back to college full time, and with work... You get the idea.
So, there wasn't any pre-prink/purple striped material, so I bought half a yard of hot pink and purple cotton. Also bought half a yard of playing cards against a black background for the lining/inside. (This was debateable, because I wanted the Cheshire cat print I was making to have something in common with the lining. Then once I thought about, I realized that nothing makes sense in Wonderland, so it doesn't matter Besides, Cheshire Cat leads her to the queen, and along the way she runs into the cards, so it works!) I made strips from the original material, and sewed the pink and purple into stripes, and ta-dah! Lol. I didn't use interfacing or anything else cuz I'm lazy =3
It's reversable, but I love the Cheshire side too much to not see it all the time
Again, this is to compliment my Alice costume while I wear it at Disney's Trick or Treat party at CA Adventure, and for while I go out on actual Halloween I will probably end up using this for much more than the holidays though
Comments are appreciated. I love nice advice on how I could do things better
EDIT: The eyes and mouth are cut from felt. The black pupils are also felt. For the teeth I used a sharpee
I've never done a bag commission before, but I would say a rough estimate of $25, depending on the cost of supplies and my time Oh, and shipping, but I think that would only be like $5 or something
that sounds like a really good price honestrly.. around Christmas im going to get some money so ill add you to my watch, maybe wit will talk more about it at that time..
